Exhibition – Prague Bicycles, Horní Počernice, Czech republic

The Horní Počernice Historical Vehicle Club, the Veteran Bicycle Club Zbraslav and the Czech Cyclist Club 1880 invited to the Chvalský zámek …
We remembered that 145 years ago in 2025, a high wheel was built in Prague in Smíchov, the first in the entire monarchy. Prague became the home of a unique invention of the 19th century, for which we owe the manufacturer Jan Kohout (1819–1884). While the steam engine, telephone, telegraph, typewriter and other companions of the bicycle ended up in museums, the bicycle took over the world. Since then, a number of manufacturers have operated in Prague, up to the present day. In addition to the taps, there were and are brands Kamarád, Ahoj, Ogar, Helyett, Falcon, Perič, Onyx, Szekuj, Honig, Šlesinger, Avon, Jaňour, Hanousek, Štěrba, Aerobike, Festka, Kangaroo, Author … and maybe we will discover some more. All of them will present the development of the bicycle in those (so far) 145 years.
