The Smithsonian Bicycle Collection is part of the Air and Space Museum and is probably the oldest bicycle collection in the world. It was established in 1889. It has been exhibited many times, but unfortunately, all the bicycles are currently in storage and cannot be seen.

The only option where to see the wheels is the book Wheels and Wheeling from 1974.
440/C- The Smithsonian Bicycle Collection
The entire Smithsonian collection remained in secret deposit even for participants of the ICHC (International Cycling History Conference) in 2014, and museum staff prepared only a few publications for viewing and projected a few photographs of the bikes.
