Expo 2025: "100volte Bottecchia“, Pordenone, Italy

The Associazione Culturale Ottavio Bottecchia Pordenone was born from the desire to build a cultural, sporting and educational path aimed at enhancing the memory of Ottavio Bottecchia, a witness to heroic cycling, 100 years after his first victory at the Tour de France in 1924. It testifies that the life of a person and cyclists is strongly rooted in the capital Pordenone and the naming of the city Velodrome. A journey that brings attention to both his sporting achievements and his human value profile, with events in favor of the territory and citizens of Pordenone; for younger generations to take a cue from Bottecchi's statement after winning the Tour:
"I endured, I resisted. Above all, I wanted.

Unfortunately, concrete steps have not yet been taken. We had a great time with the bikes during our visit, so I share them in the gallery as a memory and thank you for using Bikeradar.com and Cyklonovinky.cz

Ciclocollection - Museo di Biciclette, Riva del Garda – Italy

A private collection of bicycles - a small museum is located in Hotel Virgilio from Riva del Garda. Here, bicycle lovers can view a rare and exclusive collection of about 100 vintage bicycles. I recommend you to be attentive, because a careful eye will not miss a number of rare systems and interesting things on individual bikes. Most of the exhibits are in their original authentic condition. Absolutely TOP condition.
The curator and owner is Farè Pierluigi, a great cycling enthusiast who for more than twenty years has been recalling the history of the bicycle, which is fascinating, ever-evolving but also, unfortunately, gradually disappearing, as he likes to say.

La Storia 1894 – 1927
Ottavio Bottecchia was born 8/1/1894, in San Martino di Colle Umberto, an authentic phenomenon who performed many heroic feats in a few years and left an indelible mark on the world of cycling: he was actually the first Italian to win the Tour de France in 1924 in the yellow jersey from first to the last stage and won the Tour again the following year in 1925.
But we can also tell about him about the heroic deeds that earned him the Bronze Medal for military bravery, about his repeated escapes from Austrian captivity and about his hard work as a cartwright and bricklayer to support his large family. A man of hard work, sacrifice and accepting fate with humility without complaint and without regret.
