Shimano Bicycle Museum, Osaca, Japan

In Japanese, a bicycle is called "jitensha,” which literally means "wheels rotated by oneself." This means a bicycle is operated by the rider and that there are as many ways of enjoying cycling as there are riders. Located in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, the renewal opened Shimano Bicycle Museum is designed to allow visitors to enjoy, learn, and experience the flow of this familiar vehicle from its birth to the present, and into the future.

Private collection of Mr. Romario - Tuen Mun, Hong Kong

The Arsenal of UCI Bandits

„It gives me tremendous pleasure to highlight the best destination I visited this year.“ said on facebook Rekta043 Denver Estrada:

„Recently, I visited Hong Kong to see this great collection of Mr. Romario. Then I remembered Romario, who had shared a few months ago about his collection and said that if someone ever plans to visit Hong Kong his place is open for everyone who wants to hang out. All of this was just a digital image to my screen. It was like a dream when I finally stepped to this place. I've never imagined that I will be able to visit this extraordinary collection from Hong Kong.

Although Romario has been riding since 2013, he only began this collection a few years ago. Those years must have been one of a kind experience. These bikes came from different parts of the world, the farthest one is from Argentina. What I like about this collection is that every bike has an origin story. It wasn't easy for him to gather all the parts. Due to the fact that he occasionally had to negotiate and convince the prior owner to sell it to him. He must be among the world's most devoted bike collectors.“

Private Cars Collection of HSH Prince of Monaco, Monaco

The path of lovers of automobiles and later racing cars very often leads through bicycles and motorcycles. It was no different in Monaco.

At the end of the 1950s, the car enthusiast Prince Rainier III began collecting old cars. His collection gradually grew over the years as he acquired more and more models, and the garage at the Prince's Palace soon emerged as too small to contain this collection of around a hundred stunning streamlined and sporty cars, from majestic body work to gleaming hoods and regal radiator grills!

In 1993, Prince Rainier III therefore decided to open his precious collection to the public. Many of the cars in the museum are cars used directly by the royal family.

Norwegian vehicle History Museum, Lillehammer, Norway

The Norwegian Vehicle History Museum opened in 2019, and forms part of the Norwegian Road Museum. Its vast exhibition comprises cars, motorcycles, mopeds, and bicycles from the early 1900s to the 1990s. With main focus on regular cars, it provides an insight into the vehicles that have used Norwegian roads from the car’s early days to modern times.

Over 80 historical vehicles and some 60 bicycles are on display in the new museum, and it tells the story of the around 20 or so attempts at Norwegian car production.

Muzeum Narodowe Rolnictwa, Szreniawie, Poland

The National Agricultural Museum in Szreniawa was founded in 1964. There are many open-air exhibits, including demonstrations of agricultural tools and machines, hives and other historical objects. One „exhibit“ is very interesting for us – bicycle collectors. Home made or blacksmith safety, even including a chain, dated after 1892.
