T. Robertson rode down the Capitol steps in 1889 on an Eagle ( Bicycle World, Nov '89) A picture was taken then - does it exist ? I've seen the Star photo but not of the Eagle. Also Ed Long of Taylorville Ill.won a $500 wager by riding a 56 inch Eagle down a flight of 29 steps. F.E. Weaver set out from New Haven Ct April 21st,1890 to ride to San Francisco on a 48" Eagle - Van Wagoner was the racing champ on the Eagle.
